Who we are

lllanguage is operated by Alexander Cannon (“I”, “me”, “we”), based in California, USA. This policy explains what personal data the lllanguage mobile app and related services collect, why, and how you can exercise your rights.

What the app does

lllanguage helps adult learners capture language from real conversation and practice retrieving it. It is not a generic course app and is not directed at children under 13.

Data we collect

• Account. Email address, used for passwordless sign-in (one-time codes via Supabase Auth). Transactional login mail is sent from login@auth.lllanguage.com.
• Learning data. Captured expressions, meanings, source notes, mastery state, recall attempts, and listening intentions you choose to save.
• Audio. Microphone input for Talk, Catch, and Recall. Speech may be transcribed and processed so the app can detect gaps, play model speech, and support practice. Practice-partner recordings are saved only when you explicitly confirm partner consent.
• Optional audio retention. You can choose whether recordings needed for later listening and recall are stored (store_audio). When off, the product keeps what it needs to run a session without retaining those recordings as lasting study material.
• Technical data. Basic server logs needed to operate and secure the API (for example timestamps and error diagnostics). We do not run advertising SDKs and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use data

• Authenticate you and keep your learning library tied to your account.
• Provide conversation, capture, recall, and listening features.
• Process speech with speech recognition, language models, and text-to-speech that we operate for the product (self-hosted services), not for advertising.
• Respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use service providers only as needed to run the product, including Supabase for authentication and hosting providers for the API and site. Those providers process data on our behalf.

Retention

Account and learning data are kept while your account is active. Recordings follow your audio retention preference and are removed when you delete a capture or when your account is deleted. Server logs are retained for a short operational period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, access it, correct it, delete it, or export a copy, and to withdraw consent for optional audio. Email support@lllanguage.com from the address on your account. Account deletion instructions are at lllanguage.com/delete-account. In-app deletion and export tools may be added later; email remains available in the meantime.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. If we deny a request, we will explain why.

Children

lllanguage is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Where data is processed

We and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to the United States.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
